The Long Beach Junior Golf Association (LBJGA) offers numerous tournament and league opportunities for juniors looking for social or competitive play. Beginning in January and concluding in November, Heartwell Golf Course hosts Weekly Play every Friday (excluding holidays and special events) at 3:00 p.m. for junior golfers aged 7-17. During the summer months, a seven-week Summer League of 9-hole play is hosted at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday afternoons at Recreation Park 9 Golf Course.

Other upcoming tournaments include:

• St. Patrick's Day Junior/Adult Tournament – this annual 18-hole tournament is held at Heartwell Golf Course the weekend before March 17 and pairs together junior golfers and adults for a fun-filled day of golf and good times.
• Spring Tournament – this annual 9-hole tournament is played on a Saturday in April or May at Recreation Park 9 Golf Course.
• D-Day Tournament & Live Auction – Our only fundraising event of the year! Heartwell Golf Course is transformed to include two par 4 holes in a "Monster Format" to challenge more advanced junior players as well as adults. Players enjoy a day of more challenging competition, networking, and an exciting live auction that raises funds for the LBJGA that help keep us up and running.
• Club Championship – The annual 54-hole LBJGA Club Championship is played over three consecutive Friday play days and is open to all LBJGA members.
• Match Play Championship – The exciting finale of our annual Club Championship. The top 16 players from the Club Championship compete in this competitive yet fun match play event.
• Halloween Junior/Adult Tournament – An annual event traditionally scheduled for the Saturday prior to October 31 at Heartwell Golf Course. Teams of junior golfers and adults compete in a different format each year for some spooky fall golf fun.
• Holiday Glow Ball Tournament – A brand new tournament planned for 2014, the LBJGA Holiday Glow Ball Tournament is slated for a to-be-determined date in December. Stay tuned for more details!
